The season got off to an excellent start in December with the Planet Subzero guys in Tignes. We had some of the best early season snow conditions for years. Fresh powder on the first day was great. New Year’s Eve was one of the best I’ve ever had - drinking champagne and dancing in the snow outside the Maison de Tignes was not to be missed.
It was on to Les Arcs in January, again with Planet Subzero. An enormous amount of snow fell overnight and the trip from Tignes took four hours instead of one. However, the fresh snow meant we had some great skiing over the first few days. January will be remembered for the powder, the parties and of course the chalet 14 kicker!
The excellent snow conditions continued into early February, with some of the deepest powder we'd ever seen. We called it the uber dump - it was so deep we couldn't move. However, we'd been spoilt and 25 days without snowfall followed. It was tough, but good memories, days in the board park and plenty of partying kept us going.
Myself and 9 friends spent 10 days skiing and boarding the pistes and powder of Whistler, Canada. The snow conditions had been unusually poor this year. However, when we arrived, so did the snow and we enjoyed some of the best they'd had so far this winter... powder turns in Whistler Bowl - sweet!
I had such a great time in France with Planet Subzero that I went back for more in April. What a cracking end of season it was! Two good dumps of snow meant some glorious powder days and plenty of sunshine perfected the goggle marks.
